Research

During COVID, our fitness habits changed. People were not allowed to work out in person, and many were restricted to work out at home, and were not able to reap the benefits of the social aspects of going to exercise. In conducting our research though interviews and surveys, we found that the social component of exercising was a huge factor in work out motivation and making time for exercising.

The problem

Existing products on the market excel at tracking and providing analytics to provide a positive feedback loop for working out. The approach encourages internal motivation for some, but disregards other motivations that encourages others to form habits, such as the social connections, accountability, and shared experience. The opportunity is to create a product that encourages a social circle to engage in exercising, rather than the individual.
